Obituary of Andrew Thomas

Andrew Thomas was born to the late Alfred Jessie Thomas and Louisiana Whitfield Thomas on February 14, 1944 in Choctaw, Alabama. He departed this life on April 19, 2021 at the age of 77. He went to the Old Buffalo Grade School for Blacks, Choctaw County High School for Blacks, and graduated Man High School in 1964. In 1970 - 1971 school year, Andrew went to work for the Logan County Schools as a Bus Driver, who later got injured in 1991 and retired in 1994 after 19 years of service. He is a Christian and currently is a Deacon at the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ Apostolic Faith at Taplin, W.V. where he also played the drums. Also, he was a past Master Mason since 1981 – 1982 for the Tridelphia Lodge 24. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Diana Washington Thomas of 50 years, 6 daughters; Priscella Thomas, Shirley Thomas, Shelia (Fred) Thomas Meningall both from Columbus, Ohio, Andrea Thomas, Sherri (Stephen) Thomas Walls, and Terri Thomas. One sister; Louella Chic (Jessie) Thomas-Williams, a mother-in-law Myrtice Murphy Washington, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding him in death, one great-grandson Dante Crum, 6 sisters; Mary Sue, Ella May Walton, Susie E. Campbell, Daisy Dunn, Minnie Pearl, Florean Thomas and four brothers; Jessie Sr., Floyd (Jerdean) Thomas, Jimmy, and Willie (Christine) Thomas. Andrew focused his life on taking care of his family, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren (currently raising 3 of them).
