Gary Kevin “Kev” Grimmett Of Verner, WV Gary Kevin “Kev” Grimmett, 56, of Verner, departed this life on Monday, February 22, 2021, at CAMC-General Division, after a brief illness. He was born on August 26, 1964, at Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Shirley Mae Sparks Grimmett of Leon and the late Gary Freeland Grimmett. Kev was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to help people and he loved to make people laugh. His favorite thing in the world was spending time with his grandbaby Pinky. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ginsenging. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, LaVonda Hatfield Grimmett of Verner; one daughter, Trista Grimmett and her fiancé William of Inez, KY; one son, Branden Grimmett and his fiancé Tabitha of Verner; one granddaughter, Olivia Osendott of Inez, KY; one brother, Grady Grimmett and his wife Sandy of Leon; one niece, Whitney Arreola and her husband Victor and their four children, Gracie, Maddie, Victoria, and Mateo, all of NC; and two very special friends, Bernie Sims of Huff Creek and Timmy Gravley of Bruno along with a host of other relatives and friends. In honor of Kev’s wishes his remains have been cremated and there will be no services.
