He worked for Elkay Mining where he started as a coal sampler and retired as a Lab Foreman. Lawrence worked in the mining industry for over thirty years. Lawrence enjoyed going to church, collecting coins, classic cars, recycling wire, fishing, and working for the church. He never met a stranger and witnessed about the Lord to everyone he met. Devoted to his family, Lawrence was a loving husband and a wonderful father, grand father, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Duwanna (Mike) Sorrell of Kistler; one son, Kenneth (Kathy) Williams of Lyburn; three grandchildren, Kenneth R. Williams II of Chapmanville, Kristopher John Williams of Milton, and Anthony (Lindsey) Stollings of Man; five great-grandchildren, Xander Mullins, Kaleb Mullins, Karlie Williams, Aubree Williams, and Karter James Williams; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
