James Mason “Pete” Toler
Of Cooks Addition, WV
James Mason “Pete” Toler, 62, of Cooks Addition, departed this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Pikeville Medical Center at Pikeville, KY, from complications with organ failure.
He was born on January 1, 1958, at Man Appalachian Regional Hospital, the son of Anna Mae Toler of Cooks Addition and the late Rev. Arnold Toler.
In addition to his father, Pete was preceded in death by his grandson, Aydin Toler; his sister, Sylvia Elkins; his nephew, Bud Porter; six brothers-in-law, Norwood “Buck” Buckner, Mike Justice,Bobby Graham, Prather Osborne, Herbert Elkins, and Charles Toler; and a close friend, Everett Walker.
Pete was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving, devoted father and grandfather. Pete could often be found working on his vehicles or listening to music.
Those left to honor his memory are his mother, Anna Mae Toler of Cooks Addition; one daughter, Robin Toler Pipitone and her fiancé Alexander Ellis-Foster of Fayetteville, NC; two sons, Ryan Fish and his wife Sami of Ft. Worth, TX and Aaron Cooper and his husband Aaron of Wendell, NC; a granddaughter, Lilliana Pipitone of Hydes, MD; two grandsons, Trystan Wyland of Fayetteville, NC and Bryson Turkale of Gilman Bottom; the mother of his children, Jurai “Lynn” Toler of Mamers, NC; father-in-law, Jerry Wyland of Colorado Springs, CO; six sisters, Ruby Toler of Daniels, Emily Buckner of Whitewater, Jean Graham of Robinette, Loraine Justice of Cooks Addition, Sue Jones and her husband Glen of Beaver, and Helen Porter and her husband Nathan of Cooks Addition; three brothers, Sonny Toler and his wife Emily of Coolridge, Jerry Toler and his wife Sherry of Cooks Addition, and Dean Toler and his wife Tennessee of Gastonia, NC; a special aunt, Rosie Perry of Cyclone; special friends, Jackie Stowers and his wife Nancy of Mallory, Daniel Pipitone of Fayetteville, NC, and Joseph Johnston of Mamers, NC; and many nephews and nieces along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. James Buckner, Rev. Michael Osborne, and Rev. Charles Gibson officiating and a closing message by Robin Pipitone. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
