Rev. Vernon Ray "Tubby" Hawkins Of Man, WV Rev. Vernon Ray "Tubby" Hawkins, 70, of Man, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2:31 a.m. leaving from CAMC-Memorial in Charleston. He was born on January 18, 1950, at Lynco, the son of the late Bob Hawkins and the late Virginia Haynes Hawkins Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Roosevelt Allen; one sister, Sandra Belcher; and grandchildren, John Hawkins, Immanuel Hawkins, and Emily Clark; and one great-grandson, Carson Lee Clark. Rev. Vernon Hawkins was a Pastor at Godby Heights Church of God in Chapmanville for 30 years. Through out his ministry he touched so many lives with his singing and preaching for the Lord. He loved to hunt and fish. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Donna J. Hawkins; three children, Michael R. Hawkins of Man, Misty D. Hawkins of Man and John Jeffery of Logan, and Michelle Addair and her husband Rev. Billy Addair of South Man; five brothers, Johnny Hawkins and his wife Margaret, Bobby Hawkins and his wife Lila, Ronnie Allen and his wife Karen, all of OH, Pete Allen and his wife Donetta of Logan, Rev. Walter Hawkins and his wife Marchetia of Man; three sisters, Teresa Workman and her husband Doug of Man, Connie Parson of Hensley Heights, and Linda Osborne of Parkersburg; his grandchildren, Brittany and Kevin Stewart, Jermiah and Melissa Hawkins, Chris Clark and Tori Evans, Joseph and Adriana Clark, Bridgette and Matt Goff, Nevaeh Farris, and Mikey Addair; a host of great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Addair, Rev. Randy Lee, and Rev. Kathy Franklin officiating. In honor of Rev. Vernon’s wishes his remains will be cremated after the services.
