Shirley F. Greene
of Mallory, WV
Shirley F. Greene, 76 of Mallory, received her wings Tuesday, February 10, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was born September 9, 1938, at Mallory, a daughter of the late Jesse W. and Eileen F. Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Greene.
Shirley was a secretary at Man Junior High School for many years and retired from Community Health Foundation. She was a devoted member of Mallory Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she loved to teach and sing in the choir. Shirley was also a member of Old Man High School Association and START. Shirley was an avid sports fan of all sports, especially if a grandchild was involved and she made that well known. She loved her Man Hillbillies and was a dedicated Cincinnati Reds fan.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry (Vicki) Greene of Mitchell Heights and John (Lisa) Greene, with whom she made her home of Davin; four sisters, JoAnn Browning of Combs Addition, Nancy (John) Shock of Little Rock, AR, Gwen Vance of Mallory, and Pam (Tom) Spencer of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Danny (Pat) Hall of Coolville, OH, and Robert "Bob" Hall of Tiffin, OH; two aunts, Sarah Bradbury of Davin and Mary Holbrook of Abington, VA; five grandchildren, Meagan, Michael, and Matthew Greene all of Mitchell Heights, John (Kelli) Greene of Davin, and Corey (Brandi) Greene of Combs Addition; a dedicated and loving caregiver, Debbie Linville, whom we are so thankful and blessed to have been there for not only Shirley, but for her family too; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Mallory Baptist Church at Mallory with Brother Mike York officiating.
Friends may gather one hour prior to services.
