Avery Mullins
Of Bruno, WV
Avery Mullins, 89, of Bruno, departed this life on Monday, September 21, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 15, 1930, at Richlands, VA, the son of the late Wiley and Mary Mullins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Bertha Grimmett Mullins who left this world on March 13, 2020; his daughter, Sandra Mullins Depty; his brother, Al Mullins; sister, Sylvia Payne and his grandson, Shane Mullins.
Avery was an avid trader; he especially enjoyed trading guns. He was a retired coal miner with 30 years of mining experience. Avery enjoyed collecting guns and hunting when he was able.
Those left to cherish his memory are three children, Larry Mullins and his wife Donna of Bruno, Linda Baker and her husband Gary of Mooresburg, TN, and Roger Mullins and his wife Janie of Holly Hills; four grandchildren, Mike Mullins and his wife Leanne of Bruno, Michelle Vest and her husband David of Hurricane, Amy Mullins of Bruno, and Dr. Gary Neal Baker and his wife Amanda of Belington, Clifford Griffin of Bruno; seven great-grandchildren, Katelynn Vest of Hurricane, Evan Mullins and Macie Mullins, both of Bruno, Kayla Baker and Kari Baker, both of Belington, Phoenix Worley of Buffalo, and Leah Mullins of St. Albans; a special caregiver, Stephanie Toler of Huff Creek; his Yorkie fur baby, Eli; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby with Rev. Bill Cantrell officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
Family and friends may gather at 2:30 p.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
