Of Amherstdale, WV
Billie Jean Rogers, 77, of Amherstdale, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 6, 2014. She departed this life from CAMC-General Division after an extended illness.
She was born on April 15, 1936, in Kentucky, the daughter of the late Rev. James Andrew and Elsie Smith Holt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Rogers; one daughter-in-law, LaJeana Johnston Grimmett; and two grandchildren, Zachary Robert Rogers and Brandy Michelle Grimmett.
Billie Jean was a private duty caregiver for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A faithful longtime member of the Robinette Church of God, Billie Jean was very active in the ladies ministries when she was able.
Those left to cherish her memory are five sons, Grover Andrew Grimmett of Kistler, Darrell (Cherry) Grimmett of Tallahassee, FL, James E. (Melissa) Rogers of Robinette, Michael (Susie) Rogers of Kistler, and Kevin (Sherry) Rogers of Mallory; one sister, Barbara Cochran of FL; 10 grandchildren, Naamon James (Marie) Grimmett, Vickie Jean (Shaun) Davis, Sandy (Chris) Wilson, Tracy (Mark) Canup, James C. (Nora) Rogers, Willard Rogers, Michael Paul Rogers, Christina Michelle Rogers, Justin Kevin (Hope) Rogers, and Ryan Charles Rogers; 16 great-grandchildren, James Andrew Grimmett, Jessica Catherine Grimmett, Tristan Patrick Davis, Brianna Kaye Davis, Courtney Jean Davis, Samantha Wilson, Savannah Wilson, Austin Ivonskin, Levi Canup, Robert Edward Lee Rogers, Adam Lee Gibson, Dominic Michael Rogers, Alura Ferguson, Jaden Ferguson, Archie Mosley IV, and John Mosley; and her very special canine companion, Sparky.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Robinette Church of God at Robinette with Rev. Albert Cline, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Robinette Cemetery at Robinette.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
