Elizabeth Ann “Bethel” Vance
Of Robinette, WV
Elizabeth Ann “Bethel” Vance went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 16, 2020, leaving from the home of her granddaughter Patricia Isom, after a wonderful life of 94 years.
She was born on March 19, 1925, in McDowell County, the daughter of the late Levi and Etta Belle (Oyler) Roberts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde C. Vance, Sr.; two sons, Stephen Vance and Clyde C. “Buddy” Vance, Jr.; her daughter, Patricia “Patty” “Cookie” Bragg with whom Bethel resided for four years until Cookie’s Heavenly journey.
Bethel was a home maker who took great pride in caring for her home and family. She was a member of the Robinette Church of God where she was a member of the Ladies Aide, and worked tirelessly for the good of her church and God’s Kingdom. She enjoyed going to Magic Mart to buy dish towels which she gave to everyone she knew and sewing cross stitch. Devoted to her family, Bethel was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Ella Mae “PeeWee” Horn of Ona, Linda “Susie” (Earnest) Smith of Brunswick, OH, and Beth (William) Maynard of Earling; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Robinette Church of God and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church also.
A celebration of Bethel’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Robinette Church of God with Bishop Albert Cline assisted by Rev. Michael VanNatter officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
