Of Earling, WV
Norman Wilson "Bud" Evans, 73, of Earling, departed this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a short illness.
He was born August 25, 1941, at Accoville Hollow, the son of the late Printess and Dora Smith Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Poston Evans; and two brothers, Bill Evans and Ricky Evans.
Norman was a coal miner for 23 years and was a member of the UMWA local 8454. His passion was coon hunting and working on machines. He enjoyed his Walker coon hunting dogs. Norman loved his family especially all of his grandbabies.
Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Wilson Gene "Beaner" Evans of Lundale; one daughter, Cindy Jane Blankenship of Earling; three brothers, Jackie (Katherine) Evans of Earling, Jimmy Dale Evans of Keystone, and Landrum (Carol) Evans of Robinette; five sisters, Zona Lawrence of NC, Mary Elsie Adkins of Amherstdale, Brenda Damron of Accoville Hollow, Nora May Maynard of Huntington, and Betty Jo (David) Hearn of Accoville; four grandchildren, LeAnn Evans of Gaffney, SC, Eric (Becky) Evans of Earling, Kelsey (Keith) Caudill of Mallory, and Keyleigh Evans of Lundale; four great-grandchildren, Eric Evans, Jr., Hunter Evans, Maci Evans, and Keith Caudill, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. John Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
