William Ray “Bill” Dalton Of Lorado, WV William Ray “Bill” Dalton, 68, of Lorado, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, leaving from St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, after a long illness. He was born on August 19, 1951, at Logan, the son of the late William Anderson Dalton, Jr. and the late Marie Lowe Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Delphia Lucero; and one brother, Luther Dalton. Bill was a 1970 graduate of Man High School where he discovered his passion for music. After graduation, Bill began mastering his musical ability by playing with various bands one of which was the Sabres. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age and began a life dedicated to ministry. Bill served as a Pastor, Assistant Pastor, teacher, and was a guitarist in several gospel groups including the Living Waters Quartet. He encouraged everyone he met through his teaching and his love for the Word of God. During his illness, friends would visit to cheer him up but left feeling blessed by their conversations with Bill. One of the joys in his life was opening Promise Recording Studio, LLC with his dear friend Rodney Adkins. Through the studio he got to help talented artists spread the gospel through music. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Karen Dalton; one daughter, Kelli (Jon) Grimmett of Man; his parents-in-law, George and Doris Browning of Davin; two sisters, Lois Curtis of Waxhaw, NC and Dinnah Finley of Jacksonville, FL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tyke and Kathy Brown of Davin; many nieces and nephews, special friends, Mike “Ringo” Wingler along with every band member he ever played with and a special cousin, Claude Hoosier; his church family, and many friends. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Lafferty and Bishop Anthony Hudgins officiating.
