Harold G. Thompson

Of Davin, WV

   Harold G. Thompson, 92, of Davin, departed this life on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Logan Regional Medical Center, with his loving wife by his side, after an extended illness.

   He was born on May 13, 1927, in Logan County, the son of the late Luther and Vernie Trogden Thompson.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Thompson; one sister, Lois; and one brother, Charles “Lefty” Thompson.

   He was a graduate of Man High School and was an Army veteran.  After his time in the Army, he returned to Logan County and became a mechanic for the surface mining industry. 

   Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Wanda Thompson; son, Harold Douglas “H.D.” Thompson of Davin; daughter-in-law, Andrea Thompson of Davin; grandchildren, Richie Thompson, Rebecca Mays, Harold Douglas “J.R.” Thompson, Jr., Shaila Workman, Tia Workman, Taylor Carter, Blake Brown, and Jordan Brown; and nine great-grandchilden; along with a host of other relatives and friends. 

   There will be a committal service held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby with his longtime friend, George Duncan speaking.

   Pallbearers will be family and friends.
