Obituary of Janet Sue Grimmett

Janet Sue Grimmett

Of Mineral City, WV

   Janet Sue Grimmett, 79, of Mineral City, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, September 20, 2019, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after an extended illness.

   She was born on June 22, 1940, at Davin, the daughter of the late Luther and Margie Virginia (Browning) Adkins.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard “John” Grimmett; and one sister, Joy Brown.

   Janet was a home maker who took great pride in her home and family.  She loved taking care of her grandchildren.  When she was younger she taught Sunday school and worked with the Youth at Gilman Bottom Community Tabernacle.   When she was able during the last few years she attended Claypool United Methodist Church.  Janet loved animals and fed all the cats in the neighborhood and adopted a dog she named Sam that she loved with all of her heart.  Devoted to her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. 

   Those left to cherish her memory are five children, Clinton (Teresa) Grimmett of Mallory, Sherry Grimmett of Davin, Gary Grimmett of Stanley, NC, Donna (Michael) Bunch of Davin, and Renee (Lonnie) Fitch of Front Royal, VA; one sister, Judith Broyles of Man; a special niece, Sheila Sloane of Davin; six grandchildren, Christopher Grimmett of Man, Matthew Grimmett of Stanley, NC, Stephen (Dena) Bunch of Davin, Leanna (Curtis) Justice of Dallas, NC, Adam Bunch of Davin, and Paul Fitch of Front Royal, VA; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Grimmett, Xander and Zaylee Bunch, Allison and Taylor Justice; and a host of other relatives and friends.

   Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday evening at the Claypool United Methodist Church at Davin and one hour prior to services at the church also.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the Claypool United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Frazier officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

   Pall bearers will be grandsons.
