Emogene Hale Adkins
Of Amherstdale, WV
Emogene Hale Adkins, 76, of Amherstdale, went to be with Lord on Friday, December 5, 2014, at the home of her sister, Mary Lynn Hale Scites at Stowe, after an extended illness.
She was born on January 28, 1938, in KY, a daughter of the late Matthew and Anna Hall Hale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Arvill Adkins; one daughter, Treasa "Tessie" Adkins; two brothers, Rev. Gordon Hale and Charles Hale; and two sisters, Shirley Moriarty and Linda Marsh.
Emogene was a member of Lundale Freewill Baptist Church for over 55 years. She and her husband were the former owners and operators of Adkins Grocery at Proctor Bottom.
Those left to cherish her memory are three sisters, Norma Cormanick of Centerburg, OH, Dora Morin of Columbus, OH, and Mary (Vernon) Scites of Stowe; two brothers, Eddie Hale and Ronald Hale, both of Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church at Lundale with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
Pall bearers will be friends and relatives.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
