Roy Lee Garbosky, Sr.

Of Kistler, WV

   Roy Lee Garbosky, Sr., 60, of Kistler, went home to be with the Lord and to go fishing in the river of Jordan on Thursday, May 16, 2019, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long illness.

   He was born on December 20, 1958, at Man, the son of the late Alfred Garbosky Sr. and Ina Evelyn Willis Garbosky.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Tenny Browning; two brothers, Kenny Garbosky and Joseph Garbosky; and one sister, Darlena Garbosky.

   Roy was a member of the Kistler Freewill Baptist Church where he was a member of the Kistler Choir.  Roy loved the Lord and spoke about Him with everyone.  He was retired from Man Appalachian Regional Hospital.  Roy was a 1977 graduate of Man High School.  He loved to camp, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Lara Garbosky of Kistler; one son, Roy (Billie Dawn) Garbosky of Kistler; one daughter, Crystal (Scott) Spence of Kistler; one grandson, Xavier Spence; two granddaughters, Savannah Spence and Scarlett Lee Marie Spence due to arrive in August 2019; two God-children, Kenny (Deidra) Milton of Kistler and Sara (Justin) Krummen of Accoville; one brother, Alfred (Geri) Garbosky of South Charleston; one sister, Josie Clark of Davin; his father-in-law, Larry Browning of Green Valley; brother-in-law, Larry (April) Browning of Cyclone; sister-in-law, Melody (Donnie) Abbott of Green Valley; his best friend, J.D. (Barb) Roberts of Accoville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family and friends.

   Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Kistler Freewill Baptist Church at Kistler with Rev. Roland Cook and Rev. Buddy Hager officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

   Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Kistler Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.

   Pallbearers will be family and friends.
