Roger Lee “Drum” Scites

Of Davin, WV

   Roger Lee “Drum” Scites, 60, of Davin, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

   He was born May 6, 1958, at Man, the son of the late Hershel and Delila (Napier) Scites.

   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Scites.

   Roger was a 1976 graduate of Man High School.  He worked in the coal mines until he became disabled.  Roger enjoyed riding his bicycle, riding his 4-wheeler, visiting friends, and caring for his dogs.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Tina (Timothy) Williamson of Davin; two nephews, Michael (Kristen) Scites of Man and TJ (Kayla) Williamson of Bruno; two nieces, Santausha Paulsen of Ripley and Stephanie (Dennis) Toler of Davin; three great-nephews, Hunter Toler, Keaton and Kaleb Paulsen; one great-niece, Kylie Toler; and a host of other dear family and friends.

   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Roger Frye officiating. 

   Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home also.

   To honor Roger’s request, his remains will be cremated following services.
