Joyce Ann Cummings

of Mallory, WV

  Joyce Ann Cummings, 51, of Mallory, went home to the Lord on Thursday, August 16th, 2018, at CAMC General, with her children by her side, after a long battle with kidney failure among many other illnesses.

   She was born on November 14, 1966, in Fayette County, a daughter of the late Ray Hubert and Joyce Cecile Lovejoy Cummings.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Virgil Sheppard.

   Joyce Ann was a fun loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.  She lived everyday as if it was her last and was always making memories.  Joyce Ann had a big heart and never met a stranger.  Those who knew and loved her will never forget her kind soul, joyous spirit and infectious laugh.   

   Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shannon Malloy of Mallory; her son, David Hopkins II of McConnell; her soul mate, Doug Sheppard of Marengo, Ohio; her stepchildren, Douglas Sheppard Jr., Melissa Sheppard, Christina Sheppard, Juliann (William) Huffman, and Hailee Foster, all of Columbus, Ohio, and David (Kirsten) Sheppard of Marengo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, and two very special close friends, Virginia “Jenga” Ferrell of Columbus, Ohio and Katie Fox of Asheville, NC. 

   A celebration of Joyce Ann’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Donnie Wells officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. 

   Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home also. 

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, 115 Market St., Man, WV  25635 to help with funeral expenses.
