Douglas W. Nash, III
Of Lorado, WV
Douglas W. Nash, III, 67, of Lorado, joined his beloved wife in their Heavenly home on Thursday, March 23, 2017, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
He was born on January 25, 1950, at Plainwell, MI, a son of Nancy Jane Barton Nash of Middleville, MI and the late Douglas W. Nash, II.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Ann Adkins Nash.
Douglas was a coal miner for over 25 years and was a member of the UMWA District 17. A U. S. Marine Corp veteran, Douglas served two tours of duty in Viet Nam in 1968 through 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1974. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and growing a vegetable garden. Douglas was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to mother, are three sons, Douglas W. (Sherry) Nash IV of Yolyn, David Lee (Margaret) Nash of Accoville, and Daniel Brooks Nash of Lorado who took care of Douglas throughout his illness; one sister, Judy (Lynn) Champion of IN; two brothers, Tom (Linda) Nash and John (Chris) Nash, both of MI; eight grandchildren, Corey Walker, Katie Nash, James Nash, Brooklyn Nash, Dawn Nash, Leigha Nash, Austin Nash, and Randal Nash; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Walker, Dominic Preece and Vincent Nash.
In honor of Douglas' wishes his remains have been cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard.
Friends may gather one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
