Lorraine Leese
of Ona, WV
Lorraine Leese, 91, of Ona, formerly of Robinette, departed this world Wednesday, November 18, 2015, following an extended illness.
She was born September 9, 1924, at Lorado, a daughter of the late Merlin Spears and Cecelia Sergent Spears Lanning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Leese, Sr.; two sisters, Doris Burks and Elaine Foshee; and one brother, Paul Spears.
Lorraine began her nursing career at Logan General Hospital and later worked as a nurse for Dr. Thomas P. Long for many years. She was a member of Becco United Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, George (Linda) Leese, Jr of Ona; daughter, Doris "Dee" Elaine (Dale) Wanner of Clendenin; two sisters, Launice (Elmer, Jr.) Jeffrey of Robinette and Shirley (Chuck) Thompson of Ashland, KY; two brothers Merlin "Bugs" (Deloris) Spears, Jr. of Neibert and David (Agnes) Lanning of Portsmouth, OH; sister-in-law, Barbara Spears of Robinette; three grandchildren, Christopher Leese of Milton, Marilyn (Roger) Thompson of Barboursville, and Michael (Kyra) Wanner of Frazier's Bottom; six great grandchildren, Natalie Leese, Lindsay and Delaney Thompson, Sierra, Macy, and Maddie Wanner; many nieces, nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. James Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
