Obituary of Gregory Lane Gent

Gregory Lane Gent of Cyclone, WV Gregory Lane Gent, 65, of Cyclone, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, leaving from Bowers Hospice House at Beckley, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 14, 1950, at Davin, the son of Mary Katheryn Perry Gent of Davin and the late Cecil Robert Gent. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Gent Waoble; one nephew, Robert Waoble; one step-daughter, Monica Wisecup Lemon; one step-grandchild, Adrieanna O. Lemon. Gregory was a long haul 18 wheel truck driver formerly employed with R.W. Joyce Trucking at Mt. Airy, VA. When he was able, he attended Lacoma Baptist Church at Cyclone. Greg was a 1969 graduate of Man High School. Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 25 years, Brenda Shull Gent; one daughter, Jennifer; one step-son, Roger; two step-grandchildren, Ryan and Dustin; one brother, Ed (Agnes) Gent; one sister, Robin Gent; and one uncle, Robert Perry along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, September 25, 2015, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services also. Pall bearers will be family and friends.
