Obituary of Melvin Charles Bledsoe, Jr.

Melvin Charles Bledsoe, Jr. Of Earling, WV Melvin Charles Bledsoe, Jr., 50, of Earling, departed this life on January 19, 2021, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness. He was bornon November 10, 1970, at Man, the son of Martha Kay Toler of Earling and the late Melvin Charles Bledsoe. In addition to her father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Kay Montgomery and Pamela Sue Tackett; and his grandfather, Jasper Bledsoe. Melvin was a 1990 graduate of Man High School. He worked for Lowe’s Contracting for three years traveling to Alaska, New York City, and several other states for his work. Melvin had been disabled for the last seven years. He enjoyed watching I.D., Alaskan Bush People, and Alaska with his mother. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Martha Kay Bledsoe of Earling with whom he made his home; one sister, Mary Ellen Rhodes of Earling; his daughter, Allera Alexis Vance of Oceana; three nieces, Nisa Sullivan of Whitman, Adriana Martindale of Logan, and Nichole Montgomery of Finley, OH; and two nephews, Austin Bledsoe of Huntington and Dustin Bledsoe of Earling; along with a host of other relatives and friends. A gathering will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2021, at the Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church at Rita. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. James Ellis officiating. In honor of Melvin’s wishes his remains have been cremated.
