James Hobart “Jimbo” Tackett
Of Accoville, WV
James Hobart “Jimbo” Tackett, 59, of Accoville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2020, leaving from Genoa in Wayne County, of injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
He was born on June 23, 1961, at Portsmouth, OH, the son of the late Charles and Betty (Collins) Tackett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lewis and Rachel Collins; his paternal grandparents, Hobart and Gracie Tackett; his mother-in-law, Janice Bias; one brother-in-law, Roland Toler; and two sisters-in-law, Connie Tackett and Sharon Tackett.
Jimbo loved hunting, 4-wheeler riding, and playing with his grand-daughters. He was a friendly person who enjoyed cutting up and making people laugh.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Mary Francis Tackett; two daughters, Rebecca Whitt and her husband Randall of Man and Kayla Tackett of Accoville; four grand-daughters, Abby Atkins, Brianna Brumfield, Chelsea Brumfield, and Ella Osborne; one sister, Lucille Toler of Kopperston; five brothers, Gordon Tackett of Wayne, Robert “Bob” Tackett and his wife Marion of Kopperston, Dallas Tackett of Accoville, Lewis “Ed” Tackett and his wife Delana of Accoville, and Kenny Tackett of Accoville; a special friend, Mike Browning of Accoville; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home also.
Pallbearers will be Jimbo’s brothers and Henry Vance.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, 115 Market St., Man, WV 25635 to help with funeral expenses.
