Obituary of Jackie Dwayne Vance

Jackie Dwayne “Adam” Vance Of Accoville, WV Jackie Dwayne “Adam” Vance, 41, of Accoville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2020, leaving from Pikeville Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born on December 6, 1978, at Logan, the son of Martha Dempsey Vance Osborne of Davin and the late Jackie Lee Vance. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Renee Copley; and one brother, Curtis Vance; his grandparents, his grandparents, Millard and Essie Vance and Coonie and Bertha Dempsey. Adam was a 1997 graduate of Man High School. He had been attending SWVCC where he was pursuing a degree in counseling. Adam loved the mountains where he said he felt closest to God. He enjoyed digging ginseng and other roots and fishing. Devoted to his family, Adam showed them everyday how much he loved them. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 12 years, Katrina Dawn Whitt Vance; one daughter, Megan Mullins of Accoville; his mother and step-father, Martha and Rev. Benny Osborne of Davin; brothers, Russell Warren Vance of Accoville and Pastor Nathan and Missy Vance of Campus; five sisters, Essie Vance Davis of Davin, Janice Vance Rose of Cyclone, Lisa Vance of Logan, Kelly and Randy Lusk of Lorado, and Mary and Henry Osborne of Mineral City; and many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Randall Scott and Rebecca Whitt of Man; sister-in-law, Heather and Clifford Adkins of Man; and a special friend, Adam Nelson; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle at Hunt. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle at Hunt with Rev. Jason Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Toler Cemetery at Toney Fork. Pallbearers will be Adam Nelson, Clifford Adkins, James Tackett, Walker McClanahan, James Tilly, and Henry Vance.
