Clifford Browning Of Greenville, WV Clifford Browning, 80, of Greenville, gained his Heavenly wings on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness. He was born November 21, 1939, at Greenville, the son of the late India (Brown) Browning. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Renee Browning and Leasa Ann (Browning) Workman; his son-in-law, Rick Browning who was more like a son; one brother, Cletis Browning; one sister, Geneva (Browning) Trent; his maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Dorothy Brown; his parents-in-law, Charlie and Mary Woolwine; and one special aunt, Texie Whitt. Clifford was a member of the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle for 47 years. His passion down through his life was going to church, hunting, watching Westerns, but most of all spending time with his family. Clifford enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 years old. He served from 1957-1962 and was stationed in Fort Knox, KY and Korea. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 58 years, Janet (Woolwine) Browning; three daughters, Tammy Browning, Mary Maynard, and Kimberly Browning and her fiancé, Mike Trent; one son, Cliffy Browning, Jr. and his wife Kristy; a special son-in-law, Roger Workman; seven grandkids, Rickey Browning and his wife Misty, Angie Miller and her husband Matt, Ashley Gibson, Mark Stevens Jr., Ryan Browning and his fiancé Erica, Kyle Browning and his fiancé Kaitlyn; and Adam “AJ” Maynard; three step-grandkids, Christian and Megan Pierson and KateLynn Adkins; five great-grandkids, Ethan, Layla, and Isaac Gibson and Mason and Piper Browning; one great-grandkid due to arrive in 2021; two brothers, Danny Browning and his wife Linda Susan and Donald Browning and his wife Pat; two very special friends, Frank Vance and Jody “Monster” Simpson; and a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle at Greenville and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church also. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Donald Ellis and Brian Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard. Pall bearers will his grandsons and Anthony Perry. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
