Of Bruno, WV
Bertha Lucille Mullins, 84, of Bruno, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2020, leaving from her home, after a long illness.
She was born on January 17, 1936, at Christian, the daughter of the late Roy and Brida Effie Smith Grimmett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Kay Mullins; one grandson, Shane Anthony Mullins; three brothers, Robert Grimmett, Ed Grimmett, and Roy “Peanut” Grimmett; and one sister, Navada Walker.
Bertha was a long time employee of Man Appalachian Regional Hospital where she worked in the X-Ray Department. She was a Christian for over 50 years and attended the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church with her family. Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family, taking J.C. Penny shopping trips, collecting dolls, and loved people.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 68 years, Avery Mullins; three children, Larry and Donna Mullins of Bruno, Linda and Gary Baker of Mooresburg, TN, and Roger and Janie Mullins of Holly Hills; her precious sister who was her side kick throughout her life, Nancy Harvey of Bruno; five grandchildren, Michelle and David Vest of Hurricane, Michael and Leanne Mullins of Bruno, Dr. Gary Neal and Amanda Baker of Belington, and Amy Mullins; Clifford Griffin of Bruno; seven great-grandchildren, Katelynn Vest of Hurricane, Evan Mullins and Macie Mullins, both of Bruno, Kayla Baker and Kari Baker, both of Belington, Phoenix Worley of Bruno, and Liyah Mullins of St. Albans; and many special nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020, at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Cantrell assisted by Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Rev. Jackie Grimmett will provide special singing. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
