Of Kistler, WV
Barbara Ellen Neace, 91, of Kistler, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after an extended illness.
She was born on February 23, 1928, in Logan County, the daughter of the late Frank and Brookie Browning Wooten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Maynard; her second husband, James Neace; four children, Brookie Adkins, Roy Lee Maynard, Jr., Wade Adam Maynard, and Scott Anthony Maynard; three sisters, Gladys Richie, Goldie Bell Bailey, and Lena Phoebe Bailey; and three brothers, Walter Edmonston, Noah Edmonston, and Charles Wooten.
Barbara was a home maker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and great-great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the Becco United Baptist Church and when she was able she attended faithfully. Barbara loved the outside, camping, and riding along with anyone who was going anywhere. She was a strong willed woman who had overcome many adversities in her life. Barbara was a gentle woman with a sweet smile and warm hugs for all those she met.
Those left to cherish her memory are seven children, Richard (Connie) Maynard of OH, Rose Ann Ferrell Morgan of Accoville, Martha Burgess of Blair, Thomas (Becky) Maynard of Man, Henry Maynard of Lorado, Frank Anderson (Cindy) Maynard of Kistler, and Lottie Dianna (Walter “Butch”) McQuithy of Christian; 34 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in the Home Sweet Home Cemetery at Lorado.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
