Obituary of David Eugene Vance

David Eugene Vance

Of Lyburn, WV

   David Eugene Vance, 58, of Lyburn, departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at his residence, after a short illness.

   He was born May 15, 1961, at Akron, OH, the son of the late Ed and Belle Hager.

   Dave was a 1979 graduate of Man High School.  He was a disabled coal miner.  An outdoorsman, Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and his best canine friend Chico. 

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Lynn Vance; one son, David Vance and Ruthie Gieseck of Lyburn; one daughter, Courtney Vance at home; three sisters, Cathy (Ray) Cline, Christy Wilson, and J.J. Nunley, all of Lyburn and Madonna Petty of Durham, NC; and nieces and nephews, Missy Cline and Chris Mullins of Lyburn, Jessica (Landon) Davis of Asbury,  Michelle Petty of Durham, NC, Jacob Key and Jordan Adams, both of Lyburn, and Madi and Kaleb Davis of Asbury; special friends, Larry Trogdon, Mickey Christian, Michael “Turkey” Hatfield, Scott Wilson and Chester Perry; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

   The family would like to give a special thanks to Chris Tipton and Linda Traylor for their care and compassion.

   A gathering will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Rita where a short memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m..

   In honor of Dave’s request his remains will be cremated.
