Rita Jo Vance, age 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, leaving this world peacefully from her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 14, 1949, at
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Gene Hunt, Oliver Alan Hunt, and Martin Virgil Hunt.
Rita Jo was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. After raising her family she returned to school to pursue her life long dream of becoming a registered nurse. She was a disabled hospice nurse at the time of her death. Rita Jo was a member of
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving, devoted husband of 52 years, Boyd Lee Vance; three daughters, Rita L. Vance and her fiancé, Kenneth R. Green, both of Lyburn, Felicity D. Goodwin of Lyburn, and Jennifer L. and Clyde E. Woods of Rocky Mt., VA; three special grandsons, Geoffrey M. Shull, Zachary R. Shull and special girlfriend, Elexus Havis, and Zane A. Shull who she devoted her life to helping raise; and one very special sister and best friend, Juanita S. Harvey-Booth of Accoville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Alfred “Butch” Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in
Visitation will be held from 12 until 1 p.m. at the funeral home also.
