Lucy Mae Lester, 96, of Verner, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2019, from Combs Addition, WV, following an extended illness.
She was born November 2, 1922, at Justice, the daughter of the late John and Octavia Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lester, her son Harry Lester, her daughter Sandra Lester, two brothers, Amos and Richard Wilson, and four sisters, Mary Susie LeFevers, Evelyn Wilson, Thursa Blankenship, and Sharon Addair.
Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord, and spent her life sharing His wisdom in both word and deed. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Brenda Saunders of Combs Addition, three grandsons, Alan (Amber) Lester of Robinette, Patrick (Katie) Lester of Atlanta, GA, Justin (Carla) Saunders of Eleanor, WV, one granddaughter, Alicia (Joshua) Mullins of Combs Addition, six great-grandchildren Liam, Vivien, Paislee, Graham, Henry, and Saylor, one brother, Thomas (Linda) Wilson, one sister, Loretta (Dennis) Lawson, one brother-in-law, Arnold Addair, one sister-in-law, Ruby Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday evening at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
A celebration of Lucy’s going home will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Scotty Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in
Pall bearers will be Edison Adkins, Alan Lester, Patrick Lester, Joshua Mullins, Phillip Robinson, Jr., and Justin Saunders.
Honorary pall bearers will be Turl Browning, Gary Cline, Zeke Davis, Randy Dye, Gary Kyle Griffin, Arlie Scott Griffin, Rodney LeFever, Thomas Lester, Craig Mankin, Curtis Lester, Vaughn Queen, Jamie Harvey and Kerwin Morgan.
