Myrtle Evans

Of Kistler, WV

Myrtle Evans, 97, of Kistler, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2019, leaving from her earthly home at Kistler, after a brief illness.

She was born on April 23, 1922, at Leet, a daughter of the late Gordy and Mary Laota Frye.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estel F. “Bad Eye” Evans, Sr.; one son, Estel “Hoover” Evans, Jr.; two daughters, Dewanda “Wonnie” Bray and Ruby Moran; two grandsons, Gregory “Happy” Evans and Charles S. Moran; and four sisters, Ella Frye, Ida Baisden, Nina Lambert, and Martha McClellan.

Her greatest gift and service was to people; which was anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.  If she was described in one word it would be LOVE.  So love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.   She truly was a woman of God who displayed God’s love in every form.  It’s not great achievements in life that matter most but the lives we touch.

Those left to cherish her memory include one sister-in-law, Betty Evans; along with her grandchildren, Ronald (Yong) Bray, Jr. of Crestview, FL, Scott (Tammy) Moran and Cynthia (Chris) Feuerstein, both of St. John, IN, Joshua (Jessica) Evans of Turtle Creek, Michael Lodato and Michelle Lodato, both of Madison, Malissa Centino of SC, and Stephen Evans of Davin; two grand-daughters-in-law, Rosa Moran and Victoria Evans; wonderful friends who were like a daughter and son to Myrtle, Connie and Ellis Gibson; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that she considered family.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Micco Jesus Church, Rt. 44, Switzer, WV  25647.  You may phone the family at: 304-583-7396.

A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Micco Jesus Church with Rev. Jimmy Fletcher and Rev. Butch White officiating.  Myrtle will be lovingly laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pall bearers will be Thomas Bray, Jr., Scott Moran, Richard Gibson, Josh Evans, Ellis Gibson, and Chris Feuerstein.

Online condolence may be sent to www.krantzmcneelyfuneralhome.com

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
