Charles “Buz” Leslie Vance

Of Lundale, WV

Charles “Buz” Leslie Vance, 72, of Lundale, returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, after a long battle with cancer and heart disease.  His love and devotion to his family along with his firm belief in God supported him through his struggles and ultimately gave him peace.

He was born on November 15, 1946, at Riley Camp, the son of the late Charles O’Neil Vance and Virginia Stellis Browning Vance.

Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Tina Rochele Vance; and a sister, Patricia Lee Vance Morgan.

He was an active member and Deacon at the Becco United Baptist Church where he was blessed with a church community that he referred to as his second family and loved dearly.

Buz was a character with his joking and quick witted ways, but also he was a valuable pillar in the hearts of many due to his unwavering faith and guidance.  He loved many sports including bowling and golf and spent many summers on his boat enjoying time with family.

His life was led by putting God first and helping others.  His favorite saying was “I’m not worried for I’m a winner either way.”

Left to cherish him and give praise is his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Sue Dickerson Vance of Lundale; one son, Gregory Allen Vance of Lundale; and daughter, Lisa Michele Vance of Lundale.  He was blessed by four grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Workman, Hannah Michelle Vance, Haven Rochele Riley, and Lyla Caye Vance.  A brother, Kenneth (Lora) Vance of TX and one sister, Lilly (Del) Toler of TX; and one special aunt, Ruth (Harold) Tomblin of Man along with a host of nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Becco United Baptist Church at Amherstdale and one hour prior to services at the church also.

A celebration of Buz’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Gore and Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard.

Pall bearers will be Joshua Workman, Jason Dickerson, Chad Newsome, Justin Spence, Rupie Phillips, Timmy Clark, and Billy Jack Dickerson.

Honorary pall bearers will be the Deacons of Becco United Baptist Church plus Paul Tomblin, James Stepp, and Joel (Motey) Caserta.

Online condolences may be sent to www.krantzmcneelyfuneralhome.com

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
