Donald Gene Tomblin, Sr. Of Lorado, WV Donald Gene Tomblin, Sr., 74, of Lorado, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, leaving from the home of his daughter Holly at Accoville, surrounded by his loving family, after a long fought illness. He was born June 3, 1948, at Ethel, the son of the late Calvin and Racie (Baisden) Tomblin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Judy Ann Tomblin, one son, Donald G. Tomblin, Jr.; and four brothers, Calvin, Clifton, Carl “Mickey”, and Danny Tomblin; and two sisters, Linda Louise Tomblin and Calvina Lawrence. Mr. Tomblin served in the United States Army for 31 years. He was also a coal miner who retired from Arch Coal Company. Donald was a member of the Becco United Baptist Church and loved his church family dearly. He also loved his Bethel Tabernacle family. Donald enjoyed wood working, cutting grass, planting flowers, and attending NASCAR races with his grandsons. He loved his family deeply and his grandkids more than life. Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Holly Albright and her husband, Johnny of Accoville; four grandsons, Zach Tomblin and his wife Gena of Dingess, Cody Albright and his fiancé Alexis of Taplin, Thatcher Tomblin, and Kolten Albright, both of Accoville; great-granddaughter, Delylah Kate Tomblin; his sister-in-law, Geneva Wingler of Henlawson; one very special niece whom he loved as a daughter, Angel Spurlock and her husband Cliff of Henlawson; one very special great-niece, Ambrionna “Paige” Dowden of Henlawson; and his care givers, Trina Moore and LoriAnne Miller along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, from 6-9 p.m. at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. P.J. Tomblin assisted by Rev. Pat Kinser officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard at Becco also. In honor of Donald’s wishes, his remains will be cremated after the services.
